It's a safe bet to say someone is enjoying Blizzard's World of Warcraft when they make an eight and a half foot tall statue of a creature found within the game. Being my first attempt at such a project I would have to say that on the whole I was please with it. He is supposed to have fencing on his back, however, which I left out for a couple of reasons: 1) I was running out of time (he was being used in a Halloween haunted house) and 2) his skeleton was far more frail than I thought. I used and assortment of PVC piping and chicken wire (I still have the cuts on my hands) which worked great. Once I started to add arms and head, though, his spine began to...bend. Halloween night the creature was actually leaning over (which looked great, though certainly unintended). Needless to say any additional weight would have snapped the poor guy's back. I had the balance and stance pretty well set up...I just never even thought about the weight on his spine being an issue. Ah, live and learn. Anyhow, I ended up putting the fence on the ground which turned out to be a very slick prop.

Thanks! He took me roughly three days if I remember correctly. The chicken wire was awful! I mean, it was great for forming the body but it sliced my hands and arms up like crazy.

The whole thing was a lot of fun but the next time I do it I'll have to come up with something a bit stronger for the frame. The PVC let it bend but, well, bend too much. Seriously by the end of the night I was quite sure it was going to fall over and crush some kid in a Harry Potter costume :)
:iconcockrocket:
Yikes! chickenwire sounds dangerous, heh. I've never constructed anything, but you can definately see you put a LOT of effort into this thing. I mean, CHRIST. LOOK AT IT. ITS FRIGGIN HUGE :'D I wish I could have seen it x3

Im a Harry Potter fan, but god knows theres too many kids runnin around pretending to be him |: You would have done the world a service had your reaper "accidentally" fallen over and crushed him :salute: :giggle:

I didn't mean to make that sound like slam against the Potter. It's the first costume that came to mind because a) everybody was dressed up as Harry that Halloween and b) one kid in particular hit me in the face with a hard plastic wand (ah, the dangers of working in a haunted house) :poke:
:iconcockrocket:
And I didnt mean to make it sound like you were slammin him x} sorry bout that.

But geh, kids can be such a pain :| You shouldv'e shoved his wand up his butt :'D
